Easy Wreath

I made this wreath last year to coordinate with my bright green door and it was so easy, nearly free, kinda modern looking, and stored incredibly well.

The base is a foam wreath shape, wrapped with natural linen strips, then I added some rick rack. The flowers are made from simple shapes cut from white felt, red satin scraps backed with some medium weight interfacing for stiffness, and a button in the middle stitched through the shapes to hold each flower together. The leaves are green fabric scraps, again backed with fusible interfacing for stiffness. The little plaque part is more white felt glued to cardstock. The text was supposed to be stamped with black ink, but didn't show up well, so I broke out my handy Sharpie marker. It is all affixed with the trusty hot glue gun.

The best part is that I had all this stuff on hand. The fabric was all scraps! I bet you can find some odds and ends around your house to decorate with too.

The wreath came before the door knocker, which wasn't so easy or cheap. But it only required two holes to be drilled into the door and hubby had it installed in a flash. I am so glad we put it in as it has been the most attractive and secure way to hang stuff on the door.

It works for me!
