Presser Feet

Another post title might be: Having the Right Tools for the Job or Do Fence Me In.
I have some new tools in my sewing arsenal. The first is the stitch-in-the-ditch foot, though I have yet to use it for quilting. This thing is so perfect for top stitching garments! There's a little 'fence' (think like a table saw fence) right down the middle. Adjust the needle to the left of it and create a straight line of top stitching along the seam. Below is some stitching around the neckline of a dress I'm making for my daughter. You can see the edge stititching behind the needle and just in front of it as I finish up going all the way around the neckline. Below are some great feet: On the left is the Stitch-in-the-ditch on the left which is sometimes refered as a blind hemming foot (I think). In the middle is the quarter-inch foot, great for piecing quilt blocks. The foot has a fence to the right which guides the edges of your pieces for a straight accurate seam. And on the right is an over-edge foot, helpfull for finishing edges on seams without bunching them up. It also has a fence of sorts to guide the egde of the fabric though it's a bit different from the fences on the other two feet.

Forgive the poor photos, my camera is a 10 year old digital and let's just say cameras have come a long way in 10 years.
It's so wonderful to have the right tools for the job, and these feet have really helped my sewing.
How about you? Any favorite sewing tools you love?
